About
Juliane A. Ahrens was born in Cottbus, Germany. After graduating High School, she completed a one-year volunteer service in preservation of historical monuments working at the educational centre “Dreilützow Castle” in a small village in northern Germany.
Afterwards she studied at the prestigious University of Television and Film Munich in the department "Film and Television Documentary" (Prof. Heiner Stadler), majoring in "Screenplay" (Prof. Michael Gutmann). She completed two semesters abroad at the Escuela de Cine del Uruguay in Montevideo.
Since 2015, Juliane A. Ahrens is working as a freelance writer, director and script/dramaturgy consultant. Not only does she realize her own projects for cinema, TV and web, she also accompanies writers and producers in the development of their full-length and serial projects.
She lives and works mainly in Munich.
In this context she collaborated with various production companies, including dieFilm, BR, Tellux-Film, Lailaps Pictures, Taglicht Media, 23/5 Filmproduktion, Wiedemann & Berg, Hard Rain Pictures, Luzid Film and Walking Ghost Film.
Furthermore, Juliane A. Ahrens works as a publisher and lecturer and she conducts film workshops with children and young adults on behalf of various foundations. She is a regular guest lecturer at University of Television and Film Munich and at Macromedia University of Applied Sciences.
She is Alumna of Bavarian “Max Weber Programm”, “Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes“ (German Academic Scholarship Foundation) and “Akademie für Kindermedien” (Academy of Children’s Media).
